Thanks for your many clarifications.
Yes, overall, red is considered an auspicious colour. From your information, I personally feel that it is OK for you to continue with the red painted frontage doors of your convenience store. And this should not have any adverse contrast with the `water' grey colour.
Overall, red is indeed an auspicious colour for business. In particular, for example, if it has brass ornaments on it (not compulsory thou).
