Dear Tulip,
1. In my opinion, the most important thing to do is to make sure that the position of the bed conforms firstly to Shapes and Form Feng Shui.
2. This is where, the bed should preferably not be placed on the same wall as the bed.
3. Preferably, the bed sould be on the opposite wall as the bedroom door.
4. It should not be on the same wall as the toilet bowl.
5. The placement of bed to `conform' to the Eight House Theory should be of SECONDARY importance ONLY after Shapes and Form Feng Shui has been taken into consideration.
6. One should avoid placing the bed at odd angles such as e.g. at a 45 degree angle leaving a triangle `hollow' at the back of the bedroom or place it as `an island' in the bedroom.
7. Where possible, consideration should be given to the bed avoiding `beams' above it.
8. Usually, if one has the `luxury' such information as to the suitability of the bed should first be considered before buying a house. For those who have bought their houses or had no prior knowledge of the suitable positions; may not be able to do much in this area.
In order to make it good under Eight House, this must never; never be offset against bad Shapes and Form placement which comes first.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Excellent site. The best for beginners and for more advanced "amateurs". Hopefully, I will continue learning from it, and eventually become a premium member. Keep it up and prosper.... (I am learning that myself from my slow progress in I Ching and Fengshui).
